In Bathurst City’s last outing, they cruised to an eight wicket victory against St Pat’s Old Boys, chasing down Pat’s total of 86 in just 19.4 overs.
However, City coach Matt Willis said the game this weekend presents “a bit of the unknown” with players missing due to representative commitments.
“We will be missing Benny [Orne] and Joey [Coughlan] and they [Bulls] will be missing a few too,” Willis said.
“The game is at the Sportsground and I do not think either team will score 200.”
Willis is hopeful of more of the same from their game against Pat’s, where the bowling was strong.
Training is a crucial part of improvement, but the City boys have been restricted due to weather and the Bathurst 1000.
“Training, in general, has been good,” Willis said.
“We have been working on our fielding, our muscle memory and fitness and making sure we do not peak to early [in terms of form].”
Willis said Trent Hemsworth will be the player to watch with both bat and ball, after he took 2-26 off 6 in his last innings.
City’s opponents on Saturday, the Bulls, will be looking for their first win of the season, after they thought the job was down against Rugby Union on October 15.
Bathurst City are set to host the Centennial Bulls at the Bathurst Sportsground on Saturday, with action commencing from 1.30pm.
