The city’s rainfall total for October was sitting at just over 44 millimetres on Friday – not far below the long-term average of 60mm for the month, but well below the trend set during late winter and the start of spring.
Bathurst racked up 103mm in July, 94mm in August and 124mm in September, a period in which the low level bridge was closed a number of times and flooding in the west of the state led to evacuations in some communities.
Showers are forecast for Bathurst on Saturday and Sunday, which might boost October’s total in the month’s last days.
Bathurst’s rainfall total for the year so far is 680mm.
Orange, meanwhile, has received 1109mm.
