oOh! Media ran the competition for entrants from regional Australia to create their ultimate wish for a Smart City.
Mayor Gary Rush said the competition did not require the winning app to be developed but council was seriously investigating that option.
“The idea was to create an app where players could find and catch ghosts unique to Bathurst’s past,” Cr Rush said.
“The game links Bathurst’s unique heritage as Australia’s first inland European settlement with the hype of a popular app.”
Cr Rush said first prize in the competition was a $100,000 oOh! Media digital campaign across the oOh! Media digital network to promote the Bathurst region, including sites such as the Sydney Airport, the M4 Motorway, Olympic Park, North Sydney, Newcastle and the Central Coast.
