O’Malley carded a final round five-under 67 at the Stonecutters Ridge Golf Course on Sunday, which was not only one of the best rounds of the day, but his best of the tournament.
That saw the 2010 champion finish the four-day event at 11-under the card, but such was the hot scoring that O’Malley was tied for 40th.
The win belonged to Adam Blyth, who carded rounds of 65, 63, 66 and 71 to finish at 23-under.
"It's been a magical week ... I played probably the best golf of my life," Blyth said.
O’Malley was solid throughout the $400,000 event with rounds of 69, 70, 72 and Sunday’s 67.
His closing round featured six birdies, taking his tally for the tournament to 16, while O’Malley’s opening day of play was bogey-free.
