The tournament was directed by Ed Barnes from Oberon.
Players came from the Peninsula (Northern Beaches), Turramurra, Illawarra, Mollymook, Berry, Blue Mountains, Glenbrook, Great Lakes, Canberra, Cootamundra, Mudgee, Cowra, Orange and Bathurst bridge clubs.
In all 40 pairs competed in three divisions of the tournament on Saturday, while on Sunday 17 teams of four took part. It was the first bridge congress for many and 40 per cent of players had less than 10 Masterpoints.
The youngest player was 13-year-old Morgan Gao from Great Lakes Bridge Club who partnered his dad, Edward, to an overall win in the pairs competition. He also won his category in the teams competition with his Mum, Dad and Michael Robinson from Turramurra.
The club is grateful to all the helpers for their work and catering. A big thank you goes to John Shield for making the day happen.
