There has been a dramatic increase in the number of baby bats being abandoned and needing rescue in Orange and the Central West as bats flee their food-depleted habitats in Sydney and on the coast.

Food shortages have led to a crisis in baby bats needing to be rescued in the Central West after their mothers have died from starvation.
