Trent Copeland hopes to hit back in Tasmania

AFTER suffering a heavy loss to Victoria in their last Sheffield Shield match, Bathurst cricketer Trent Copeland and his fellow New South Blues are keen to make amends.

They will get their chance in Hobart, with NSW to take on Tasmania from Saturday.

While Copeland retains his place in the squad as a vital member of the Blues’ bowling attack, there have been five changes to the side which lost by 198 runs to Victoria.

Ed Cowan, Ryan Carters, Ryan Gibson, Will Somerville and Gurinder Sandhu have all been named in the squad that flies to Tasmania on Friday.

Captain Moises Henriques believes Nic Maddinson is a big loss for the Blues, but the unexpected return of Peter Nevill to state cricket helps ensure there’s no gap in the batting

“We’ll be helped by a combination of Nev, Ryan Carters and Ryan Gibson,” Henriques said.
