Janelle Davis said the company was encouraging staff to bring in an item of food in to be placed in a hamper.
She said this was the first year Spotless had been involved in a food drive and said it was part of a larger health and wellbeing program running for staff.
“It’s a chance for us all to give back to the community,” she said.
“We tried to promote to staff that even donating one item can make a difference so we set up a donation box at the hospital where staff can drop their donation off.
“The response so far has been really good and we will keep collecting until December 13.”
The hampers will be distributed at Christmas to people who are registered for the food bank at the Bathurst City Community Club.
“Clients who access the program can save up to 50 per cent in their grocery bills,” community club manager Rebecca Mathie said.
