THIS season has proven frustrating for bottom placed St Pat’s Old Boys, who go into their match against Rugby Union on the weekend looking for their first win in the Bathurst District Cricket Association first grade.

Saints stand-in captain Matt Fearnley said the team is focused on playing their game.

“Our main target is to bat the whole 40 overs,” Fearnley said.

“We don’t care who we are playing, we just don’t want to lose silly wickets.

“Our starts are reasonable, but too often our middle-order is collapsing.

“At times, the seniors are lacking in responsibilities, which is making it hard on our juniors to turn the game around.”

Saints will be several players, including their impressive junior Ben Parsons, Adam Ryan and captain Brendon Cutmore.

The Scots School will host the first match between these two sides this season on Saturday, with action getting underway from 1.30pm.
