ENGLAND and the Cook Islands – they are the women’s rugby league teams whose downfall former Bathurst resident Brad Donald must mastermind.
The former Bathurst Panthers player and mentor is the head coach of the Australian Jillaroos team which will face both England and the Cook Islands in the pool games of next year’s Women’s Rugby League World Cup.
The draw for the tournament, which Donald’s Jillaroos will enter as defending championship, was released on Monday.
Pool A features Australia, England and the Cook Islands, while Pool B has New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Canada.
“Interest in women’s rugby league has never been greater and we want this tournament to provide a platform to showcase these world-class athletes,” Rugby League World Cup chief executive officer, Andrew Hill, said.
