John joined the aviation scene in 1989, training with Jerry Trevor-Jones, and qualified for his unrestricted Private Pilot’s Licence in 1992.
John continued his training and in 1995 achieved his night flying rating.
Putting his flying qualifications to charitable use John has conducted many Angel Flights taking people from country NSW to Sydney for medical procedures.
He has also run the club’s aviation fuel facility for many years and in recent years accepted responsibility for co-ordinating the maintenance program for the Club’s Cessna 172.
John has been a member of the board for many years and has always had a great attitude.
John’s life membership was unanimously proposed by the board of management of the Bathurst Aero Club and ratified at a recent extraordinary general meeting.
