Something Borrowed is trained at Dubbo by Bathurst native Justin Stanley, but his group of 10 owners are all from Mudgee.
"They are a great bunch of owners and are thrilled that their horse is in the Mudgee Cup," former jockey Stanley said.
"They'd obviously love to win their local cup and I think he will be very hard to beat if he gets the right run in the race."
Something Borrowed is now an eight-year-old, but has been racing in great form.
"He's an eight-year-old who thinks he's three and he's only had the 30 starts, so he hasn't been over-raced," Stanley said. "The Mudgee Cup's a very open race with a few winning chances, but I think my horse is right in the race."
