THE Bathurst and District Bridge Club AGM was held last Saturday. Outgoing president Teresa Martin spoke of the achievements of the past year and welcomed incoming president Chris Rosevear.
Chris will be supported by vice president Teresa Martin, secretary Pamela Stuart-Brown, treasurer George Gaal and committee members Joy and John Adams, Dick Ellis, Bob Walkom, Margaret Humphries and Robyn Nightingale, who is the Mah Jong representative.
President Chris acknowledged the significant contribution that treasurer George Gaal continues to make as this is his 10th year in the role.
The club will host a Christmas luncheon and prize-giving this Saturday.
The Betty Braham Trophy goes to Coleen Street and Bill Kierath.
Jenny Hector and Liz Scorer won the Helen Gordon Trophy.
The winners of the Bathurst Regional Teams day were Lloyd Cleaver, Rosemary Hummelshoj, Diane Kajons and Graham Daniel.
The night teams competition was won by Marie Dennis, Trish Burke, Jenny Hector and Leigh Tindall and the daytime teams by Lloyd Cleaver, Rosemary Hummelshoj, Liz Scorer and Diane Kajons.
Probably the most inspiring wins this year occurred in the State Wide Pairs, which was won by Bathurst pair Phil Cummings and Kevin Wild, with another Bathurst pair Anne Hunter and Diane Kajons coming second. What a tremendous achievement for those players.
For anyone considering taking up bridge, our club teacher Bob Dillon conducts regular lessons for beginners and you would be very welcome.
