The big wet also affected the city’s latest council-created land release.
The news last week that the Eglinton 100 residential development had been registered as of December 1 would have raised some eyebrows in the city given that the land ballot for the release was held back in June and the expectation at the time was that the registration would be held in July or August.
Bathurst Regional Council said this week that the registration was delayed because the wet weather slowed the completion of civil works by the contractors.
Bathurst endured a particularly wet four months from the middle of the year, receiving 113 millimetres of rain in June, 101mm in July, 94mm in August and 124mm in September.
The low level bridge over the Macquarie River was cut four times in two months at one stage during the big wet.
Eglinton 100, one of a number of recent land releases in the Macquarie River village, is a 59-lot subdivision which takes in Cox Lane, Lew Avenue, Templer Way and Fraser Drive.
