This Sunday is a great example – there are way too many things to do in our great city.
Always the bargain hunter, Parade is tossing up between getting to the summer markets at Bathurst Showground (9am-1pm) and also the always well attended annual community garage sale at the pit complex at Mount Panorama (9am to noon).
Also after a bit of action on the weekend, Parade is also keen to take in the roller derby information and demonstration day at Bathurst Indoor Sports Stadium at 1.30pm.
Then there’s the art. The ongoing Brett Whiteley: West of the Divide exhibition on at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery. The gallery is open from 11am until 2pm and entry is free.
There’s also annual Fish River Festival at O’Connell (11am-7pm) and an afternoon chamber music concert at Abercrombie House (3-4.30pm).
Then, if Parade is still awake and has the energy, she’s keen to take in the Carols by Candlelight in Machattie Park from 6.30pm.
And after all that, Parade is pretty sure she’ll need another Sunday to get over her Sunday.
New carol on the agenda at show
SPEAKING of Carols by Candlelight, Parade has been told by a reliable source that festive attendees can expect to hear a brand new carol this year.
While Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful might be firm favourites for carollers, Bathurst’s own musical duo Smith and Jones will be singing a new carol they have written.
Carols by Candlelight organiser Graham Sattler said the song, called A very Canbelto Christmas, will be a great twist on traditional carols.
This year’s event will have 12 featured artists, including many well-known Bathurst singers.
Most performers will be accompanied by the Bathrust City and RSL Concert Band on the night.
The show kicks off at 7pm with lead up music from 6.30pm. Entry is free.
