The club held its AGM recently and the new board has some new and old faces.
John Nicoll was re-elected unopposed as president. Under his guidance the club has enjoyed a successful 2016 and is in a strong position to continue promoting general and sport aviation in the Bathurst region.
Media and Maseratis
THE club facilities were recently used for a three-day media event for the soon-to-be-released 2017 Maserati Quadraport with automotive critics having a chance to review and drive this amazing vehicle.
There were three Quadraports available for the media critics who flew into Bathurst from all over Australia. This event was not only a great opportunity to promote the Quadraport but also gave great media exposure to the Bathurst region Bathurst airport.
Santa’s flying visit
SANTA will be arriving at the clubhouse by some form of aerial transport at 10am on Saturday to hand out presents for children of club members, but your child need to be registered so his helpers can make their presents and wrap them up.
The final club activity for 2016 will be Christmas drinks at the clubhouse from 6pm next Friday, December 16. All are welcome, including non-members, to celebrate another successful year in local aviation.
An interest in aviation?
IF anyone has an interest in aviation or learning to fly, please come along to the Bathurst Aero Club and find out about the options available at the various flying schools. Otherwise, try the club website for more information at www.bathurstaeroclub.org.au.
Trial Instructional flights (TIFs) make a great Christmas present so contact one of the three flying schools at the Bathurst airport to make arrangements. Who knows you may be starting a career in aviation for one of your family members.
