A friend of Parade was walking through Kings Parade the other day and saw Annie’s Ice Cream doing an absolutely roaring trade.
There were literally people lined up on the footpath waiting their turn to get a scoop or two of their favourite ice cream, and who can blame then, it is delicious.
After doing her errands in town the friend returned past the business, and joined the crowd getting a double scoop of cream of her absolute two favourite flavours; Bridal Track and Sofala Gold, and it was the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day!
Spreading the Christmas spirit
A FRIEND of Parade headed down to Sydney on Boxing Day for her traditional post Christmas shopping spree.
With Sydney’s CBD shut down due to work on it’s light rail project and George Street closed off at Central to enable the works to go ahead, she decided to park her car at her sister’s Newtown residence and bus it into her hotel in the CBD.
On both the journey into and back out of the city, she couldn’t believe how helpful both the bus drivers, on route 422 were. There were clearly a lot of people on the route who didn’t normally catch the bus, and both drivers couldn’t have been more helpful yelling out to passengers when their stop was approaching and giving other directions including anything from where the closest McDonald’s was to how far the shops were from the bus stop.
Driving in the city would be a nightmare at the best of times, let alone during the chaos of Christmas and it was so refreshing to see these people being so helpful and going well above and beyond their duty.
Insanity at the Boxing Day sales
AND while on the subject of the Boxing Day sales, the friend who ventured down to the Sydney sales said they were crazy.
At one store there was a 40-minute wait just to get into the shop, let alone the line up to make a purchase!
