The new 82.1 kilometre course runs from the start of Duramana Road in Eglinton, onto Turondale Road, through to the Hill End Road intersection then back.
For those interested in the numbers that’s 1,251 metres of elevation, with two category 3 climbs (as defined by Strava) of over 7.5km length on the return trip – not exactly a piece of cake.
The course will be recommended for A, B and C grade riders only.
Creation of the course marks an interesting change from the Bathurst club who have often used the roads in and out from Perthville as the building blocks of their tracks.
Sign on for Sunday’s race will be at the earlier time of 7.30am due to the course’s severity.
