Both the Bulldogs seconds and colts are aiming to build upon their strong 2016 seasons. Colts produced a second consecutive unbeaten season while the reserves are out to put the pain of two straight finals losses behind them.
New second grade co-coach Justin Mobbs is looking forward to calling the shots in the new season.
“They’re a great bunch of blokes, very well rounded and with a lot of different personalities in the team. That worked great for us last year,” he said.
“We fell over at the end, which was a bit disappointing, and below where we should have ended up considering the skill that’s in the team.
“We’ll have a similar team and there’s going to be a lot of good colts coming through.”
Jordan Bull is ready to steer the colts for another season.
“We’ve only got six players back from last year which will make it tough. I’ve spoken to a few of the kids we had come down to training in the holidays and we’ve got a lot of Stannies and All Saints and Bathurst High boys, which is great,” he said.
“With those good numbers it should be another good year.
“There’s a bit of pressure playing as under 19s now … but I think we’ll still do fine.”
