A MAN who allegedly dragged a woman from her home with the intention of getting her to retract an earlier sexual assault report to police has been refused bail after appearing in court.

Darryl James Leonard, 29, of Culnane Place in Kelso appeared before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court on Tuesday.
He appeared in person and in custody.
Leonard faces a number of charges including sexual assault and taking and detaining a person with intent to obtain an advantage.
Leonard was arrested by police on Monday after officers from Chifley local area command commenced an investigation into a report of a sexual assault that allegedly took place in the early hours of Sunday, January 15.
Police will allege that on Monday, two women attended a home at Culnane Place and met with the accused.
An altercation ensued with Leonard allegedly punching a 41-year-old woman before the two women fled the area.
A short time later, Leonard allegedly forcibly entered a home on Gilmour Street, Kelso and dragged a 21-year-old woman into his car.
After driving around the Kelso area with the woman for 30 minutes, he allegedly drove the woman to Bathurst police station. Police allege he was seeking to have the woman retract an earlier sexual assault claim.
The woman reported the incident to officers and Leonard was arrested.
Leonard was charged with an aggravated count of enterin a dwelling with intent to inflict actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and sexual intercourse without consent.
He was also charged with two counts of destroy/damage property, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, aggravated enter dwelling with intent to deprive liberty and take and detain person with intent to obtain an advantage.
Leonard made an application for bail before Mr Allen which was refused.
Mr Allen adjourned the matter until March 20 for replies, and ordered Leonard be assessed for psychological wellbeing.
