One of Australia's most exciting young drivers Matt Campbell is the latest to have been picked up by the Triple Eight Racing team, having been named as co-driver to defending Supercar champion Shane van Gisbergen in the Red Bull Holden Racing Team in the 2017 Pirtek Enduro Cup.

Better known for his exploits behind the wheel of various Porsche' Campbell won the 2016 Carrera Cup and was awarded a seat in this year's prestigious Porsche Supercup that runs on the support card to most European Formula One grands prix. The 2016 season was good to the young Queenslander, for he made his Supercar Australia debut in the Pirtek Enduro Cup with Todd Kelly in a Nissan Motorsport Altima. his performances throughout the year paid dividends for the now 21 year old, for he was van Gisbergen's number one choice to share his Red Bull HRT Commodore. Red Bull HRT are set to launch its new look in Melbourne today.
Mercedes confirms
It has finally been officially confirmed by Mercedes that Valtteri Bottas will partner Lewis Hamilton for the 2017 Formula 1 season as a replacement for Nico Rosberg, who stunned F1 when he decided to retire just five days after clinching the 2016 world title last November.
Bathurst 12 Hour
Next month's Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race at Mount Panorama will have a record 61 starters, headed by an amazing 37 Class A cars, and almost on a daily basis driver line-ups are being announced.
Entering two factory Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 machines for the first time, the #24 will be shared by Jann Mardenborough, Florian Strauss and Todd Kelly. The #23 entry will be headed by the blindingly quick former winner Katsumasa Chiyo, Alex Buncombe and Michael Caruso. Prodrive Racing Australia's Chaz Mostert has followed teammate Mark Winterbottom into into a BMW, but not in the Steven Richards factory-supported BMW Team SRM as has 'Frosty', but the Bathurst 1000 and Bathurst 6 Hour winner Mostert will spearhead the MARC GT BMW M6 GT3.
After testing the M6 at last year's Challenge Bathurst late last year, Mostert will be joined by Mackay driver Morgan Haber who has experience with the team having contested GT Asia races in the same car last year and Max Twigg, a triple Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Challenge class winner and driver of the Richards M6 throughout 2016. Walkinshaw GT3 have posted two Porsche entries, the first in the AM-Class with the two drivers that spearheaded their 2016 Australian GT Championship campaign John Martin and Duvashen Padayachee, and they will be joined by Liam Talbot the reigning Blancpain GT Endurance Series Am-Class Champion.
