The 266 hectare blaze started on Saturday and for the next six days firefighters from across the state came to help.

On Wednesday, the out-of-control blaze was such a concern that NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons declared it a “bushfire emergency”.

At its peak, more than 90 firefighters on the ground were working in challenging conditions to contain the fire.

They were supported by five water-bombing aircraft, including the large and very large air tankers.

By 2pm on Thursday, however, the blaze was finally brought under control.

Late Thursday, dozens of firefighters remained on site to strengthen containment lines and ensure they were not breached.

Around 20 millimetres of rain is predicted on Friday with a top of 26 degrees.
