Earlier this week, one of the Western Advocate’s media consultants was casually walking into her kitchen at home when she noticed a very uninvited guest.
Somehow a brown snake has slithered its way into her house and had made itself at home on the cool tiles of her kitchen floor.
Originally a city girl, the appearance of this large and slithering reptile made her heart race.
She screamed, and the snake quickly made its way out of sight and under the dishwasher.
Next, she rushed next door to seek the help of her neighbours, Tommy and Sam, and between the three of them managed to pull the dishwasher out into the middle of the kitchen.
But, the snake was nowhere to be found.
That was four days ago. The media consultant says a snake catcher has been called and half the kitchen has been pulled out, but there is still no sight of the brown snake.
Needless to say, this particular person has been sleeping with one eye open ever since.
Here’s cheers to city’s summer
BATHURST might have been sweltering in well above average temperatures recently, but Parade for one is loving it.
As someone who originally lived on the coast, summers always meant high humidity and fuzzy hair.
It might feel like you’ve walked into an oven each time you leave the house lately in Bathurst, this heat is much more comfortable.
So here’s to no humidity and hair that is firmly under control and without frizz.
Rainfall’s great for our gardens
HOW nice it was to see the rain fall on Bathurst on Friday.
Parade’s guessing that many people with a green thumb would have been rejoicing that their gardens got a little bit of a drink.
But, it’s all about to end with the hot weather to return this weekend and only a slight chance of up to five millimetres of rain next Tuesday.
