Mr Hadley, whose morning radio program is broadcast in Bathurst on 1503 2BS Gold, returned to the airwaves for the first time in 2017 on Monday and confirmed the station had received a legal letter from solicitors acting for Cr Rush.
But he said there would be no apology for his attacks on Cr Rush’s business dealings, in particular.
“I might mention that on Friday – I got it this morning – I got a legal letter from solicitors acting for the mayor of Bathurst, Gary Rush, demanding an apology,” Mr Hadley told his listeners.
“I say this to you, Mr Rush, don’t hold your breath.
“I stand by absolutely everything I said about you, everything about the way you treated your customers, about the money you owe to people on a whole range of fronts.”
On receiving to the legal letter, Mr Hadley said “we don’t scare easily down here”.
