Cool Climate Living comes your way each Friday from 11am to noon with Susan and Monica Morse presenting on alternate weeks, chatting with interesting people from throughout our local community about a range of topics and issues with a different theme each week.
In recent weeks we have been playing a Summer Best Of series but tomorrow it’s a fresh start to the year.
Upcoming programs will cover a range of topics from throughout the Central West region including Books, The Wattle Flat Bronze Thong, Heritage Cooking, Rogue Sculptors, Crime, Health and Garden Creatures just to mention a few.
So don’t forget Fridays at 11am for great stories from our region with local guests and personalities as well as some great music as requested by the interviewees.
Some solid rock on the airwaves
ANOTHER program not to forget is the Time Tunnel of Rock ‘N’ Roll each Sunday at 5pm as Alan Taylor takes us on a ride from the 50’s to the 80’s in the music we were brought up with, in our teen and early 20’s years with “Jive After Five”.
Alan takes us back to those heady days of raw rock ‘n’ roll from the likes of Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chubby Checker, Bill Haley, Wanda Jackson and Johnny Devlin through to the more modern sounds of James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin and more.
It’s the music of the baby boomer generation including background information, facts and trivia about the artists and the stories behind the songs. Jive After Five is pure nostalgia for those who love the birth of rock ‘n’ roll.
Tim’s got the write stuff
I’M taking a short break for a few weeks, so next week onwards the King of Retro music Tim Williams will be providing news for the “Tuned In” column.
So if anybody has any program or general information they would like mentioned give Tim a call and I’m sure he will be only more than happy to include it each week.
Otherwise material can be left at the 2MCE office at Charles Sturt University to be passed onto Tim.
