Parents received a message from the school on Friday saying there had been a bit of a mix-up with the delivery of the new hats.
“Unfortunately we were informed this afternoon that the new hats were shipped to Bathurst Island in the NT – that’s right, Bathurst Island NT,” the message read.
A quick check of the map reveals the hats just missed their mark by around 4000 kilometres.
All are working to have the stock re-routed to Bathurst, NSW as soon as possible.
Sugar’s off the menu for 2017
A MONTH into 2017 and while many New Year’s resolutions have already fallen by the wayside, one mate of Parade’s says he remains on track with his resolution – however small.
The mate says he has given up on having sugar in his coffee after doing some quick sums towards the end of 2016.
Parade’s mate used to have one teaspoon of sugar in his coffee and reckoned he averaged around four coffees a day.
Over a year that’s almost 1500 cups of coffee and 1500 teaspoons of sugar which, at around five grams per teaspoon, adds up to 7.5 kilograms of sugar every year.
That’s a frightening thought for any coffee drinker.
Hot run has a way to go yet
JANUARY in Bathurst has been one of the hottest Parade can remember but the change of the month looks unlikely to bring a change to the weather.
The start of February will just bring more of the same sweltering conditions, according to forecasters at the Bureau of Meteorology.
The bureau is forecasting a top of 37 degrees for the first day of February on Wednesday, followed by tops of 36, 36 and 37 from Thursday to Saturday.
There are some possible showers about as well but not too much relief for teachers and students for the first week back at school.
