Joshua Isaac Albon, 36, of Wellington Street Eglinton appeared before magistrate Michael Allen on January 16, facing two counts of never licensed person drive on road.
The first charge related to an incident on September 16 last year when Albon was pulled over on Hereford Street.
Police approached the driver's window, informing Albon why he had been stopped, and asked for his licence.
Albon was unable to produce a licence instead handing police a Proof of Age card in the name of Joshua Isaac Albon.
Albon was asked by police if he held a current driver's licence and said “No I don’t, not for a long time."
His roadside breath test returned a negative result.
Checks via the Roads and Maritimes system revealed Albon was the holder of a NSW Class C learners licence which had expired on April 19, 2004.
He was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for the offence.
Mr Allen dealt with the matter by way of a Section 10A conviction.
The second offence related to Albon being pulled over in Miriyan Drive on Spetember 19.
Albon came to attention of police who recognised him after being stopped on September 16.
Police pulled the vehicle over, saw Albon in the driver’s seat with a woman in the other front passenger seat.
Police asked for his licence, Albon was unable to produce one.
They asked why he was driving if he didn’t hold a drivers licence and he said "I had to take her to get her son some money."
A roadside breath test produced a negative result.
Checks via the RMS revealed Albon was the holder of an expired NSW Class C Learners licence which expired in April 2004, and he had been stopped by police on September 1 and September 16 for driving without a licence.
Mr Allen convicted and fined Albon $250.
