Adopted Bathurst local Grant Denyer has so far been impressed with the calibre of cars and drivers from around the world that has been on display at Mount Panorama, as he prepares to drive in the Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race on Sunday.

Mr Denyer, who is a part of Keltic Racing alongside Anthony and Klark Quinn, will be driving a McLaren 650 GT3.
He said the race is becoming a “must attend” event for some of the world’s biggest and best drivers.
“I’ve never seen so many cool cars and cool drivers at the one race track, anywhere,” Mr Denyer said.
“It’s setting new standards in international motor sport.”
He also said the event will be big for promoting Bathurst, as the event will be broadcast to a world wide audience.
“So much of this town holds its hat on Supercars and it’s great to see it becoming known for more than one category,” Mr Denyer said.
His Maranello Motorsport team managed only 63 laps in 2016, after crashing on the second turn.
“If we could do the first lap this time [without a crash], that would be nice,” Mr Denyer joked.
Realistically, he is hopeful of a good performance on Sunday and believes he has a “good shot” at winning his category.
“It’s going to be a wild race because it’s a crazy track, with crazy drivers, that are use to driving hard and I think there will be a lot of safety cars and plenty of crashes,” Mr Denyer said.
“The spectators will get their value for money.”
The Bathurst 12 Hour race is set to start at 5.45am on Sunday morning.
