Trained by Yass local Neil Staines, One Cold Foot ($3) jumped out of the boxes the quickest and never looked back.
It was the one-year-old black bitch’s third consecutive win, after two wins in a row at Canberra.
“She goes good. I have a good friend [Caryl Griffiths] of mine who owns her and raced her for the first part of her career, but I’ve only had her for about four starts,” Staines said.
“She’s [Griffiths] is in love with the dog and she thinks it’s the next Brett Lee.”
One Cold Foot won by a margin of 4.75 over Irinka Tyson ($5) and Spring Country ($13), who were comfortably outclassed by the winning bitch.
She has now claimed 10 wins from 16 starts, including 14 placings.
Staines was full of praise for the dog.
“She’s [One Cold Foot] a lovely girl to have round. She wants to be here, loves it,” he said.
“We come here when we can, if there’s races here for us.”
Bill Kennerson was the man who donated the land where Kennerson Park now stands and the race is named in honour to his service and charity to greyhound racing in Bathurst.
