Massive weekend in Bathurst
IT was a case of what do you want to do next in the city this weekend, with plenty of fun family events on over the weekend.
From the Bronze Thong to an Undie Run, there was plenty to see and do.
Parade was pleased to see after a hiatus of a couple of years, Wattle Flat’s beloved Bronze Thong was back, and plenty of people made the short drive out of town to enjoy the event, which was once known as one of the best bush races in Australia.
Other events on were Bathurst Country Music Club’s ever popular riverside concert, which drew a crowd of hundreds, and as usual featured the cream of local country music talent.
Sunday’s sesquicentenary celebrations up at Stannies’ were equally popular with current students joined by their families, old boys, and the community at large, who came out in force to celebrate the school’s 150th anniversary.
It was also great to see the city host it’s first Cupid Undie Run, which was raising money for a great cause; Parade hopes the event grows from strength to strength.
With so much on, it was certainly a great weekend to be in Bathurst.
Hot weather is on it’s way back
After some respite from the recent hot weather, it looks like we might be in for some more hot weather, with temperatures in the mid thirties expected mid week.
While it’s going to be warm, at least it won’t be as bad as the heat we were experiencing the week before last.
