A STAGGERING $150,000 worth of pet food has been donated to the Hay2Help appeal to help farmers’ pets left devastated by bushfire.

This month’s 55,000ha Sir Ivan fire in the Warrumbungle Shire, has left farmers’ stock and pets without feed.
So, in stepped Bathurst pet food manufacturer, Mars Petcare, who have donated 43 pallets of dog and cat food to help pets in need.
Mars Bathurst logistics manager John Lennon said the donation aligned with the company’s philosophy.
“When it comes to community issues, we like to get involved,” he said. “Our company philosophy is to make it a better world for pets.”
Cranston’s Trucking Services’ Brett Cranston has donated his trucks, drivers and fuel to ensure that the massive load of pet food gets to those who need it.
His vehicles have also transported two semi loads of hay, with around more to depart Bathurst on Saturday.
“It’s a six-hour round trip. Drivers will work all week and then they’ll do this for the love of it on Saturday,” he said.
