Central NSW Tourism has partnered with website Wotif.com for a four-week promotional campaign to its 1.5 million subscribers.
During the campaign, worth more than $100,000, accommodation operators, destination experiences and events across Bathurst and Central NSW will be promoted.
Central NSW Tourism executive officer Lisa Ditchfield said the partnership will offer the region unmatched exposure thanks to Wotif.com’s parent company Expedia.
She said more people shop for travel on Expedia websites worldwide than with any other online travel company.
“Our partnership with Wotif.com is a huge win for the region as the appetite for booking travel online continues to soar in numbers each year,” Ms Ditchfield said.
She said promoting the many and varied experiences that people can have across Central NSW will benefit the entire region.

“There’s a focus to increase people’s length of stay and the money they’re spending in our region,” she said.
Abercrombie House’s Christopher Morgan praised the partnership and said it will benefit tourism operators in Bathurst.
He said visitors to heritage cities like Bathurst enjoy it more when the history, stories and buildings are brought to life.
“Heritage is fine, but it’s the back stories that make it,” Mr Morgan said.
Ian Redpath from Detour Adventures and Tony Mader from A Settler’s Cottage say the city and region have a wide range of experience to offer tourists.
“We’ve just got so many beautiful buildings and bushranger stories,” Mr Redpath said.
Another part of the partnership is a social media campaign that encourages people to share their favourite Central NSW experience or hidden gem to go in the draw to win a weekend away.
The five weekend prize packages are all located across the region, with the Bathurst weekend teaming up tourism operators Abercrombie House, Detour Adventures, The George Hotel and A Settler’s Cottage.
“It’s been a great opportunity for operators to work together,” Bathurst Regional Council’s destination development manager Lucy White said.
“In this case it’s a highly personal experience that they people will remember.”
