Western NSW Football coaching and development manager Andrew Fearnley said the course will benefit the region’s coaches.
“They’ll be exposed to a more advanced football coaching model,” he said.
“It will delve into the correct coaching methodology and training.”
The course will also look at core football skills, how coaching sessions should be set up and how they should look like, correct football terminology to be used and how to get the best outcome for footballers.
The course will be hosted over three weekends, with the other two weekends in May and October.
“It’s a little condensed because we’re in a regional area,” Fearnley said.
“In the city, it’s normally done over two weekends but not everyone can travel down to Sydney or Canberra to attend.”
The course also provides an entry point, for any footballers who intend on becoming a professional coach.
Containing generic content equally applicable to coaching both junior and senior football, the course is the first component of completing a C Youth or Senior License.
Part one of the course will be held from March 3 to 5, while the second part will be held on May 6 to 7 and October 14 and 15.
