A 63-YEAR-OLD Bathurst man is facing a string of drugs and firearms charges following the execution of two search warrants on Thursday.

Officers from the Chifley local area command Target Action Group pulled over the driver of a Toyota Hilux on William Street, Bathurst about 7.30am on Thursday.
Officers searched the vehicle and located 1kg of tobacco, cannabis and 39 packets of synthetic cannabis.
A short time later, police executed a search warrant at a business on William Street, seizing cannabis and synthetic cannabis.
About 9.50am on Thursday, police executed a search warrant at a home on Napoleon Reef Road, east of Bathurst.
Police will allege that two cannabis plants, 6.5kg of tobacco, ammunition, four unregistered firearms, fireworks, cannabis leaf and a shotgun were located during the search.

A loaded pistol was also located under a bed in the home. Police say the man was licensed to own that pistol but will allege it had not been safely stored.
All items seized during the execution will be forensically examined.
A 63-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bathurst police station.
He was charged with:
- Three counts of possession of a prohibited drug.
- Two counts of possessing ammunition without holding a licence or permit.
- Possession of goods suspected of being stolen.
- Unauthorised possession of firearms in aggravated circumstances.
- Not keeping a firearm [pistol] safely.
- Not complying with storage rules.
- Cultivating a prohibited plant.
- Supplying an indictable quantity of cannabis.
The man was initially refused bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Friday where he was granted strict conditional bail to reappear on Monday.
