Kirrily Edwards (silver 200m freestyle, bronze 100m freestyle) and Patrick O’Hara (silver 100m breaststroke) managed to earn a spot on the podium for the Bathurst club at Sydney Olympic Park.
Many other club members managed to slash seconds off their personal bests against the best non-metropolitan swimmers that the state has to offer.
“We’re really happy with their achievements and the season that they've had. We had a lot of kids shine and do really well,” Bathurst City Amateur Swim Club head coach Steve Howell said.
“They swam well together as a team, were always supporting each other and were there to cheer each other on.”
Edwards came very close to claiming gold in her women’s 15-16 years 200m freestyle final, swimming a time of 2:08.87 to be exactly half a second away from victory.
The Bathurst competitor came up just shy of cracking the one minute barrier for the first time on her way to earning bronze in the 100m freestyle (1:00.32).

Howell said the club’s swimmers had plenty of moments to savour.
“Patrick O’Hara came second in the 100m breaststroke with a new PB of 1:29.21. He also did a personal best for the 50m backstroke and did the same for his 50m free.
“He got a massive seven-second PB for his 200m breaststroke. He also went top 10 in three events, not including his silver.
“We had Molly McCrossin find a PB for the 100m breaststroke and a three second PB for the 400m freestyle. Her split at the 200m mark during her 400m final was only two seconds off her 200m best time. She then backed up for her 200m race and scored a four-second PB.
“Mitch England made it into the top 10 for the 100m freestyle and Toby Patridge continues to work hard to crack the 29 club. He got 30.40 for his 50m freestyle.
“Our relay girls did very well, as did the boys on Saturday. They all had good fun in those races.”
Meanwhile Bathurst’s Collette Lyons, swimming for Orange’s Kinross Wolaroi club, continued to dominate in 11 years age group with her four gold medals in Sydney.
Lyons set new personal bests on her way to taking out the 50m breaststroke (36.61) and 200m individual medley (2:34.35) titles.
The remaining golds came in the 100m freestyle (1:04.41) and breaststroke (1:22.81) events.
