A MAN accused of possessing prohibited drugs, stolen property and firearms made a brief appearance before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court on Monday.

Michael Saide Alameddine, 63, appeared in person and unrepresented during the brief mention.
Alameddine did not enter a plea to the charges, which relate to a raid on his William Street business and home last Thursday.
He was arrested after police pulled over his Toyota Hilux on William Street at around 7.30am on Thursday.
Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located one kilogram of tobacco, cannabis and 39 packets of synthetic cannabis.
A short time later, police executed a search warrant at Alameddine’s William Street business, seizing synthetic cannabis and cannabis.
About two hours later they executed a search warrant at a home on Napoleon Reef Road, east of Bathurst.
Police will allege two cannabis plants, 6.5kg of tobacco, ammunition, four unregistered firearms, fireworks, cannabis leafs, and a shotgun were located during the search.
A loaded pistol was also allegedly located under a bed in the home during the search.
Alameddine was charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug; two counts of possessing ammunition without holding a licence or permit; having goods suspected stolen on the premises; unauthorised possession of firearms in aggravated circumstances; not keeping a firearm safely – pistol; not complying with storage; and cultivating a prohibited plant and supplying cannabis – indictable quantity.
He will reappear before Bathurst Local Court on March 20.
