Smith & Jones (Abby Smith and Sophie Jones) get a lot of well-deserved love from local audiences whenever they play gigs at venues around town.
Fresh from Tamworth and tours beyond they’ll launch their beautiful debut album ‘Dark Gives Way’ this Friday night, March 3 from 6.30pm-9.30pm out in Hangar 1 at Bathurst Airport (how’s that for a venue!).
Admission is $20 on the door including food from the Al Dente food van. BYO local wines.
Connect to the world from home
IT’S great that when we can’t get to the city (be it Sydney or London) we can increasingly wander into Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre for the live streaming experience.
Just like the Sydney Writers Festival event the All About Women Satellite takes us directly into the experience.
Featuring innovators, culture-shakers, innovative thinkers and storytellers, it’s discussion on important issues and ideas that matter to women today.
Tickets $15. It’s on this Sunday, March 5 from 10.30am-2.30pm at BMEC.
Feel the beat near the bridge
BEATS by the Bridge is a family day out to raise funds for Perthville Public school and the local Rural Fire Service.
Featuring the likes of Mickey Pye (another local talent we can celebrate) it’s on this Saturday, March 4 at the Bridge Hotel Perthville from 11.30am-11.30pm.
BMEC fun for young and old
AFTER a string of (top quality) tribute shows recently it’s novel to have the real things touring.
The Searchers hit the British music scene in the 1960s. They’re still playing strong, on stage tonight Wednesday, March at 8pm at BMEC.
The team behind The 13- 26- and 52-Storey Treehouses shows return with kid’s show Mr Stink, a play by Maryam Master, based on the book by David Walliams, directed by Jonathan Biggins.
This is a touching, twisted, hilarious and very smelly tale.
Shows next Wednesday, March 8 at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 6.30pm at BMEC.
Join us for a weekend of art
IT’S a Bathurst Arts Trail weekend (March 4-5) for supporters of the local arts.
The cooler weather will be wonderful for road tripping the region to sticky beak on studios and sidle up to local artists. See www.bathurstartstrail.com for information.
