All the activity in the parish and community hall was in preparation for Saturday’s Holy Trinity Kelso Market Day, which is held to raise money for what is the oldest church west of the Blue Mountains.
The church grounds, on a high spot commanding sweeping views, will host stalls selling cakes, plants, second-hand books, bargains for blokes and arts and crafts.
There will also be a barbecue, coffee and refreshments, a raffle with a first prize of a load of wood (or $200 cash) and plenty of parking.
Holy Trinity Kelso, which was opened in 1835, still hosts weddings, services, baptisms and funerals.
