Competing at the 2017 Masters Track National Championships at Sydney’s Dunc Gray Velodrome last week, Marian Renshaw formed part of a strong Bathurst Cycling Club contingent.
She claimed bronze in the women’s masters 7 individual time trial, missing out on silver by just 0.02 seconds.
Mark Renshaw will face the burn of lactic acid in his legs this Saturday in the 108th edition of the Milano-San Remo, a 291 kilometre challenge.
Renshaw’s Dimension Data team-mate Mark Cavendish is a previous winner of the race, a success the African outfit will be looking to emulate.
“We bring a strong and versatile team and we have someone very talented ready for all the crucial parts of the race,” Dimension Data sports director Roger Hammond said. “I think we can be very optimistic.”
