A free workshop for parents and supervisors of learner drivers will be held by Bathurst Regional Council and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) in the council committee meeting room on level one from 1pm-3pm. Parents and supervisors will be given hands-on advice on how to provide the most effective driving practice for learner drivers. Bookings essential: 6333 6517.

A free workshop for women survivors of childhood trauma and abuse will be held at Rahamim Ecology Centre at St Joseph's Mount, 34 Busby Street from 10am-4pm. Lunch will be provided. Women will learn more about how trauma/abuse may have affected them at the time and now, the role of coping strategies, how the brain responds to stress, and hear about research which shows that recovery is possible. The 2017 Bathurst Melanoma March will be held at Bicentennial Park, Bathurst. Registrations will open from 9am and the official walk will begin at approximately 10.30am. Participants in the march will start at Bicentennial Park and complete a loop of the walking course on the walking path/track around the Macquarie River. The course is an easy walking course, suitable for people with prams, young children, adults and even the pet dog. There will be a sausage sizzle and giveaways for participants at the end. Dr John Schibeci will be the guest speaker.

Local gemologist and lapardrist, Ernst Holland, has been selected to judge at Gemboree 2017, incorporating the 53rd National Gem and Mineral Show. This national event, the largest gem, mineral, fossil and lapidary competition and exhibition, will be held at Tony Luchetti Showground in Lithgow over the Easter long weekend from Friday, April 14 to Monday, April 17.
