It’s not the first time Ms Turnbull has been involved in the awareness campaign, having raised $12,000 last year.
While she raised less money than last year, she was happy with the total raised.
“I didn’t get the same amount of winners as last year, which was a bit disappointing,” she said.
“But it’s all about the cause.”
Westfund Health Insurance donated $100 for each win, while Ms Turnbull had other local businesses and friends donating $20 for each win.
“Harness racing picked up the cause and I’m happy to get behind it, because it is a good cause,” Ms Turnbull said.
“It’s all about getting the awareness out there for ovarian cancer and the symptoms.
“Donations are still more than welcome.”
During the six week period, Ms Turnbull wore the Women’s Cancer Foundation (WCF) teal silks.
She was one of the WCF racing ambassadors, alongside Ellen Rixon and Madi Young.
Donations are still being accepted, at www.harness.org.au and 0408 636 405.
