Emergency services arrived just after 5.30pm to find the Holden Commodore station wagon had gone through a barrier fence colliding with the tree, at the Bathurst Showground.
Details of the crash are sketchy but there were fears the driver may have been trapped in the car.
Any injuries are unknown.
Traffic in the area has not been disrupted.
The crash occurred just 50 metres away from another accident site where two weeks ago, a car exploded into flames, with the two occupants jumping from the car before it too crashed through the showground fencing and into a tree.
