Crime manager, Detective Inspector Luke Rankin, said police were at an address in Bouffler Close, Kelso when they saw property which they will allege was stolen during two recent break and enters in Bathurst.
Detective Inspector Rankin said police obtained a search warrant for the dwelling which was executed on Friday morning and they seized a number of items, including drugs suspected of being crystal methamphetamine, a sum of cash, and property including a television and electrical items suspected of being stolen.
Police believe the property was stolen during break and enters at Burns and Co and at The Scots School which occurred overnight on Wednesday.
Detective Inspector Rankin said the arrest reflected the good work of the Chifley Target Action Group [TAG] officers, detectives and general duties police.
He said TAG police respond to specific offences, and generate a lot of good results in the command.
“They really do a lot of work to keep the community safe,” he said.
Detective Inspector Rankin said police arrested a 23-year-old man, who was assisting police with their inquiries.
He said it was anticipated the man would be charged later in the day.
He also said police will continue their investigations into the break and enters.
“Given the size of some of the property recovered during the search warrant, we have suspicions they were not working alone,” he said.
