THE Great Western Highway, near Diamond Swamp Road east of Bathurst, has now been reopened following a fatal motorcycle accident on Saturday morning.

A WOMAN has died and a man is in a serious condition after a fatal motorcycle crash east of Bathurst on Saturday morning.
Just after 10.30am emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway near Diamond Swamp Road, about 35 kilometres east of Bathurst.
“A motorcycle with two riders was travelling westbound on the Great Western Highway before it crashed,” a NSW Police spokeswoman said.
“A woman believed to be in her 40s died at the scene.
“A man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and is expected to be flown to a Sydney hospital for treatment of his injuries.”
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the man was aged in his 50s and has head, chest and leg injuries.
He was transported to Bathurst Airport and will be airlifted to Sydney.
Forensic investigators are on scene.

EMERGENCY services are on scene at a motorcycle accident on the Great Western Highway east of Bathurst.
The accident occurred around 10.48am on Saturday with multiple paramedic crews from Bathurst rushing to the scene.
Early reports to the Western Advocate are that multiple people may have been on the motorcycle.
Live Traffic reports that the accident site is near the intersection of Diamond Swamp Road, around 29 kilometres east of Bathurst.
The Great Western Highway is closed in both directions with motorists urged to use an alternative route via Sunny Corner Road.
