MAT Rue has no qualms about labelling Passions Delight a “very smart horse” and given what she produced in the Gold Tiara Gold Consolation (1,730 metres), it is hard to argue otherwise.

The Bettors Delight x Passions Promise filly left her two-year-old rivals in her wake at the Bathurst Paceway on Saturday night when Rue asked her to give.
With the rest of the field beaten, she cruised home over the final 100m, but even then she still clocked a 1:56.4 mile rate.
Her closest rival, Art Series ($10.90), was 11¼m behind her.
“That was a super win. I really did think the filly would go like that tonight, she’s a smart filly, she’s bred to be a nice horses and she is a good horse,” Rue said.
“She got buried away back on the fence in her heat and she didn’t handle that last turn too good. She could easily have made the final if things went her way and been a serious winning chance as you saw then.”
Looking after the filly for Riddells Creek trainer Nicole Molander, Rue went from barrier one in the consolation final.
For much of the trip Rue’s $1.30 favourite did battle with the Phillip Thurston, Forbes-trained, Seismic.
Seismic led on the bell and into the back straight, the first half of the last mile being covered 59.1 seconds.
There was a neck in it as they headed into the final bend, but then Rue asked Passions Delight to go. From that point it was game over.
On balancing Passions Delight was three lengths in front and she went on to post the second win of her four-start career.
