Dream Blossom ($4.80) finished just behind Moonshine Spirit in second, with Oldmate Everest ($22.20) taking home the final placing in third.
The black bitch’s win was comfortable, by 0.41 seconds over Dream Blossom, and it pleased trainer and owner Robert Littlefield.
“Beautiful run, mate. She’s always shown a bit of ability but she was a little bit wayward at first,” he said.
“She’s starting to learn how to race now and we’re very happy with the result.
“Today was fantastic and she got it right.”
Littlefield, who is based at Shadforth, said Moonshine Spirit has the potential to run at the 500 metre distance.
Moonshine Spirit, whose father is Cosmic Rumble and mother is Moonshine Sally, comes from a “really well bred litter”.
“Hopefully the bloodlines are there and hopefully she can be as good as those dogs [her parents],” Littlefield said.
Race favourite Durama Star ($2.50) had a disappointing day, finishing 0.04 seconds behind Narrabung Boy ($21).
Sixth-placed Sweet Little Mel ($4.80) failed to win, which the dog has failed to do in 46 starts.
