Officers attached the NSW Sex Crime Squad arrested the man in Lithgow on Wednesday.
Chifley local area command Sergeant Darryl Goodwin said the man was facing child sex charges allegedly committed over a number of years and dating back to the mid-2000s.
He was refused bail to appear in Lithgow Local Court on Thursday.
