An incident report on the ATSB website says the aircraft was a Cessna 182, VH-JXX, that had flown from Broken Hill that morning.
“The aircraft landed hard and sustained substantial damage,” the incident report states.
“The pilot was seriously injured and the passenger was not injured.
“As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot and gather additional information.”
The bureau advised a report into the incident was expected by August 2017.
