Mitchell played for the New South Wales Green team, which defeated New South Wales Magenta in the grand final by 54 runs at the Brisbane Grammar School.
Cricket Australia national talent manager Greg Chappell said there was some good cricket on display during the tournament.
“It was really pleasing to see the amount of talent on display at the championship this year,” he said.
“There was some really good cricket played throughout the week.”
In the grand final, Mitchell was caught out for a duck from a Tanvir Singh ball.
While his Green side only finished with a total of 143 off 47.5, Mitchell played an important role in dismissing the Magenta team for just 89 off 34.3 overs.
Mitchell took 2-8 off five overs, his best best figures during the tournament.
He took five wickets from as many games, for an economy rate of 2.63 runs an over and an average of 11.40 runs for each wicket.
NSW Green’s first match of the tournament was a 107-run victory over Victoria Metro.
This was followed by a 27-run defeated to South Australia.
The team bounced back to crush Northern Territory by 191 runs, with Mitchell scoring a tournament-high 32 runs in the NSW Green win.
NSW Green raced to a comfortable six wicket win against Victoria County and progressed to the grand final after their match against rivals Queensland was washed-out.
