Paul Barnes made a welcome return to the winner’s circle on Saturday after compiling 40pts to account for Jim Schumacher on a countback after both players registered 40pts. Martyn Salmon rounded out third with 37pts and the scratch went to Peter Sheppard (18).

The tussle for A-grade was a battle between Trevor Dickie and Kel Cooke who both had 38pts, in the end Dickie emerged victorious on a countback. New Vice-Captain Darryn Bruce slotted in for third after a nice 36pts, Mr reliable Darrell Bourke was the scratch winner with 33pts.
Another tie at the top was the C-grade scenario after Matt Pender and Ian Thomas both shot 39pts, Pender received the judges nod on a countback. Jeff Williams (37) rounded out third and the scratch went to Peter Chaffey on 22pts.
Congratulations to Bruce Cameron who flew the Bathurst flag high during last week’s NSW Seniors after he took out the overall nett section in a high class display of skill and decorum. Bruce was also in the limelight during the Monday foursome’s event as he teamed with Vice-President Marty Meredith to win the 18 hole handicap section, well done guys.
A low scoring affair was the order of the day in last Friday’s individual stableford event as 36pts was enough for Darrell Bourke and Tony Pryce to head the top of the leaderboard, Bourke snuck over the line in the tightest of countbacks.
Ever young Max Culkin was back to his brilliant best courtesy of 40pts and a single stroke margin over Noel Ross to win B-grade, Viv Butler honed his skills to shoot 37pts and third place. New member Ian Rodenhuis has taken to the great game of golf like a duck to water to post 21pts and the scratch win.
Culkin and Ross proved to be a formidable 2BBB combination as their 46pts delivered a two stroke win over Terry Chifley and Steve Thompson. The guns of Bourke and Pryce were too strong in the scratch department after an even par round of 36pts.
A solid field of 58 took to the links on Sunday and it was John Perfect (38pts) leading the way over Denis Hurst (36) and Ben Hobbs (35).
